Pulo Lobo's Route
Cycle the Pulo do Lobo Route and discover the emblematic ecosystems of the Guadiana Valley Natural Park. Stop wherever and whenever you want and fully enjoy the Montado and the Mediterranean scrubland. Along this route you can visit various localities and natural monuments such as Pulo do Lobo, where we recommend a longer stop. Observe and immerse yourself in the Alentejo culture. In Amendoeira da Serra, visit the Iberian Lynx Interpretation Center to learn all about the world’s most endangered feline.
Corte Gafo de Cima will be the starting and ending point of the tour. Starting here you can visit the windmill at Corte Gafo and get to know the local products at the artisan cheese factory at Corte Gafo de Cima and at the Myg gourmet jam factory.
At the Monastery you can visit the small village, the monastery, and take a break at a local snack bar to recharge your batteries.
In Amendoeira da Serra you can visit the Iberian Lynx Interpretation Center and learn more about the world’s most endangered feline. In Amendoeira you can also take a lunch break at a local restaurant or make a brief stop at a snack bar.
The highlight of this route is Pulo do Lobo. Known for the legend that gave it its name, Pulo do Lobo is a place where you can enjoy a panoramic view, by the river, with a small waterfall. The perfect place to relax to the sound of the Guadiana River and its surrounding fauna after a long walk.
As the last place to visit on this route, you can also visit the Anta da Corte Gafo. This was a funeral site in ancient civilizations. Although today only ruins remain, it is a place with history.
